Looking back at the preliminary task what do you feel you have learnt from the progression from it to full product

Since making the preliminary task I feel I have learnt more about how to film something in order to make it look more professional. I have also learnt how to use final cut editing software better that before. Also that the planning and research is almost as important as the filming and editing as If you do the research well it makes the other stages much easier.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

A production company manages the production of a movie From screenplay to release. It's main jobs are Providing and managing things such as budget and directors and dealing with legal problems. My idea of a film distributor is a company whose job it is to get the movies to the cinemas and get the movie onto disks ready for purchase in shops. The distributor for my film may be Entertainment Film as they are the UKs largest independent movie Distributors and usually distribute serious independent moves.

For a movie such as ours the money would come from a large number of investors who all invest a small amount of the money each as it is a low budget independent movie and is therefore more risky for investors to put large amounts of money into. Films that are similar to ours would be something like this is England as it is a serious independent movie that relies a lot on story and character just like ours does.

Tuesday 17th January 2012

today me and the group got together and decided on our final idea for the opening sequence, we tried to merge the two previous opening sequence ideas and once we had decided we started drawing our storyboard. we also made a shot list of the shots we were going to include and in order and started trying to think of a title.

Screenplay inspiration

This was the inspiration for my opening sequence, i liked the idea of it starting in a situation which forces the audience to ask questions and then reversing to show more of the situation, so i wanted our main character to start dead then reverse through what happened to him but without revealing the killer so there is still questions to be asked. for example in the opening to american beauty the voice over says that he is dead but does not reveal who has killed him until the end of the movie.
